European Council prolongs econ sanctions against Russia till Jul 31
BRUSSELS, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- The European Council prolonged economic sanctions against Russia for six months, until July 31, 2023 on Friday.
"The Council today decided to prolong the restrictive measures targeting specific sectors of the economy of the Russian Federation for six months, until 31 July 2023,," the statement read.
The economic sanctions, introduced in July 2014, are targeted against Russia's financial, energy and defense sectors. The sanctions were rolled over every six months since the introduction.
